Frequently Asked Questions

To apply for consideration to join our elite panel and staff of appraisers, complete the worksheet here. If you work in an area where we are currently considering new applicants, you will need to supply and or meet the following:

• A current resume
• E & O (minimum $500,000 aggregate)
• Current license - Appraisers must be at the second or third licensing tier (certified residential or certified general) and have a minimum of five years of experience for full appraisal work. Appraisers must be licensed to complete collaborative evaluation products. AXIS verifies the appraiser's standing with the licensing board.
• One reference and one interview by AXIS staff member
• Two recent work samples (UAD format) are reviewed by AXIS staff appraisers.
• What am I agreeing to when I join the AXIS Panel?

AXIS panel members are required to provide fully documented and analyzed opinions of value with clearly articulated knowledge of the marketplace in which the appraised property resides. Appraisers must submit USPAP compliant reports and run E & O software prior to submission. Lastly, appraisers must be responsive to questions and requests from AXIS staff and lenders.

• How does AXIS determine my territory?

As each market is unique, AXIS believes that only a highly qualified appraiser who truly knows and lives in that market can provide a fully supported and accurate opinion of value. Therefore, AXIS limits each appraiser to a narrowly defined territory that is determined during the screening and application process. It is a time intensive process, but fundamental to AXIS' philosophy.
